Hello! I'm an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. I'm interested in understanding, modeling and simulating the mechanics and thermodynamics of solids, with a special focus on the physics of various kinds of defects in crystalline solids. You will find more information about my research and teaching activities at IIT Bombay, and about the people in my research group, in the following pages.

Here is a brief summary of my academic background:

2001-2006: B.Tech/M.Tech Dual Degree (Aerospace Engineering) - IIT Madras.
2006-2012: Ph.D. (Aerospace Engineering) - Indian Institute of Science.
2012 (May - July): Visiting Researcher - University of Exeter.
2012-2013: Post-doctoral researcher - Ecole Centrale de Nantes.
2014-2017: Post-doctoral researcher - California Institute of Technology.
2018-Present: Assistant Professor (Aerospace Engineering) - IIT Bombay.

Outside academic research, I enjoy listening to Carnatic music (the classical music of south India), and occassionally play it on the fretless electric guitar.
